Is sonography mandatory for the mother?

This is mandatory during pregnancy as it helps in accessing the actual condition of the baby’s development and growth. This helps to pick up any abnormalities such as Down’s syndrome. It is suggested for women to have at least one ultrasound done between 18 and 22 weeks of gestation. It is not necessary to have this every month because a healthy pregnancy involves two standard ultrasounds during the entire period of the pregnancy.

4D Ultrasound Sonography

4D ultrasound is similar to 3D ultrasound except that the image that it generates as it is continuously updated is a type of moving image. Unlike standard or 2D ultrasound, 3D and 4D ultrasound enable a clear picture of your baby in your womb with the help of sound waves. Diva Women’s Hospital has a high-end sonography machine that is useful not only during pregnancy but also helps in fertility treatment and various types of gynecological problems. Some doctors only suggest 3D and 4D ultrasound as it enables certain defects such as cleft palate, which are hard to determine by using standard ultrasound.
